Client-Side Advocacy

Your Dynamics 365 implementation is moving forward, but some of the decisions are starting to raise questions.

Get an experienced client-side perspective on scope, solution design, technical recommendations, risks, and milestone decisions while your implementation partner continues delivery.

Some implementation decisions deserve a closer look before your team commits to them.

Most implementation decisions are part of normal delivery. Others can affect cost, complexity, reporting, integrations, financial controls, or how people will work after go-live.

When those decisions come up, your team may want someone with Dynamics 365 experience to review the recommendation from the client's perspective before deciding how to proceed.

Scope and cost

Does the proposed work belong in the agreed scope, and is the additional cost reasonable?

Solution design

Does the proposed design fit the requirement without creating unnecessary complexity or future support problems?

Risk and dependencies

What could this decision affect elsewhere in the application, data, integrations, reporting, security, or business process?

Client responsibilities

What does your team need to decide, prepare, test, approve, or complete before the project can safely move forward?

Put an independent Dynamics 365 viewpoint on the decisions that can change the project.

Client-Side Advocacy gives your team a Dynamics 365 advisor who can review important recommendations and help you understand their implications for the business. The implementation partner remains responsible for delivery. Your team remains responsible for the decisions.

01

Review what is being proposed

Examine the SOW, scope, solution design, architecture, configuration choices, proposed customizations, integrations, data migration approach, security, reporting, invoices, and other decisions that need client attention.

02

Understand what the decision changes

Determine how the recommendation affects requirements, cost, maintainability, other systems, business processes, future administration, and responsibilities that remain with your team.

03

Decide with the full implication in front of you

Receive a written recommendation, the risks or dependencies behind it, and the questions that should be resolved before you approve, reject, or ask the implementation partner to revise the approach.

See how Client-Side Advocacy applies to the Dynamics 365 application being implemented.

The questions that come up are different for each Dynamics 365 application. Choose yours to see the areas we can review with you.

Question Client-Side Advocacy answers

How do the Business Central decisions being proposed support the financial and operating requirements the project is supposed to address, and where could they create gaps or unnecessary complexity?

What Alliason works through with your
team

Finance and operational scope against the SOW and stated requirements

Proposed configuration, extensions, customizations, and architecture decisions

Data migration, integrations, security, approvals, reporting, and financial controls

Additional effort, invoices, or scope decisions that require independent review

Risks that could affect month-end close, transaction processing, reporting, or ongoing administration

What leadership will know

Why a recommendation is being made and whether a simpler approach should be considered

Which decisions affect financial controls or core operating processes

Which dependencies or assumptions need to be resolved before approval

What your team must be prepared to test, validate, approve, or own before go-live

Where a design choice could create more administration or custom work after go-live

Get independent advice without adding another delivery team to the project.

Client-Side Advocacy works alongside an implementation delivered by another partner. Alliason reviews key decisions, helps your team understand what is being proposed, and documents recommendations and risks.

Advocacy does not replace the implementation partner or project manager. You decide how directly Alliason works with the delivery partner, and your team makes every final decision.

Starting Investment

$5,000 per month

Client-Side Advocacy is provided through a monthly retainer. The level of involvement is based on the implementation, the decisions that need review, and the milestones where your team wants independent guidance.

Typical Timeframe

For the implementation or selected milestones

The engagement can begin before implementation, during active delivery, or after problems have appeared. It normally ends at the agreed milestone or when the implementation is complete.

Customer Time

Typically 2 to 4 hours per week

Time varies with the number of active decisions, meetings, and reviews requiring client participation.

Participants

The people responsible for the client's side of the project

This may include the project owner, IT, business leaders, subject matter experts, an executive sponsor, and others responsible for evaluating or approving implementation decisions.

01

Establish what was agreed and what is now being proposed.

We review the SOW, scope, solution design, architecture, implementation materials, open decisions, and known risks so we can distinguish what was agreed from what is now being proposed.

02

Agree on how Advocacy will work with the delivery partner.

You decide whether Alliason participates directly in partner meetings, attends steering committee meetings, or advises your team separately. The delivery partner does not communicate directly with Alliason without your permission and knowledge.

03

Review the decisions that deserve an independent Dynamics 365 opinion.

Weekly reviews can cover solution design, scope, architecture, configuration, customizations, integrations, data migration, security, reporting, invoices, or a change request when you want it reviewed.

04

Keep the unresolved risks and decisions visible.

We maintain the relevant risk register and provide written decision briefs, architecture or design findings, meeting notes, executive summaries, and issue escalation recommendations when those records are useful to the client.

05

Check whether your team is prepared for the next milestone.

We help your team understand what it must be ready to own for testing, user acceptance, training, adoption, cutover, and go-live. The implementation partner and client carry out those activities unless Alliason has a separate SOW for specific work.

06

Give you a recommendation. You make the decision.

For the decisions we review, you receive Alliason's recommendation, the reasoning behind it, the material risks or dependencies, and any questions that should be resolved with the implementation partner. Approval remains entirely with your organization.

What clients say about working with Alliason.

“With Alliason, there was dialogue, problem-solving, and a real working relationship.”

Questions clients ask before bringing in an independent Dynamics 365 advisor

When questions start surfacing, you do not have to evaluate every Dynamics 365 decision from one point of view.

Client-Side Advocacy gives your team experienced guidance on the decisions, risks, and recommendations that deserve a closer look while your implementation continues.
