Dynamics 365 Sales Assessment

Dynamics 365 Sales isn’t delivering the results you expect

The business invested in Dynamics 365 Sales to help your team serve customers, manage opportunities, and make informed sales decisions. When those activities still depend on repeated data entry and information kept elsewhere, your team spends time compensating for the application instead of benefiting from it.

Alliason's Assessment reviews your business processes alongside the Dynamics 365 Sales configuration. You learn what is causing the delays, extra effort or unreliable information your team encounters, how that affects the business, and what needs to improve.

Starting at $4,500.

We agree on the fixed fee with you before we begin.

The finding

Each seller counts deals differently. The manager has to check the numbers before sharing the forecast.

The recommended next step

Agree which deals belong in the forecast and who keeps them updated.

High priority

When the system doesn't support the way the business sells

When customer information is scattered across emails, spreadsheets, and Dynamics 365 Sales, sellers have to piece it together before responding to a customer. Entering the same details in several places adds effort and leaves records out of date when an update reaches only one of them. Managers then have to check which information is current before using it to make decisions.

The Assessment traces how information is recorded, shared, and used, along with the steps your team follows. It explains where the process or configuration creates extra effort and recommends changes that would help your team serve customers and make decisions with reliable information.

The sales forecast still lives in Excel.

What happens today
Contoso already uses Dynamics 365 Sales. Before each sales meeting, the manager checks the deals and rebuilds the forecast in Excel.

What the Assessment finds
Some sellers count a deal when they send a proposal. Others wait until the customer agrees to buy. The forecast in Dynamics combines those different judgments.

Recommended change
Agree which deals belong in the forecast and how sellers should update them. Adjust the existing Dynamics 365 Sales setup so the forecast uses those rules.

Know why the expected results aren't happening and what needs to improve

The Assessment answers five practical questions:

Why aren't we getting the results we need?
Understand what is causing the delays, repeated tasks or unreliable information your team encounters. The findings connect each cause to its effect on your team's ability to serve customers, manage opportunities or make decisions.
What does our team need from the application?
Get requirements that describe the tasks each person needs to complete, the information they need and how Dynamics 365 Sales should support them. These give whoever carries out the changes a clear description of what your team needs to accomplish.
What is working correctly?
See which parts of the application and sales process already meet your business needs and can remain as they are.
How do we move forward?
Each recommendation states what would change in the application or business process, the expected benefit and the reason for its priority. It also explains whether another change needs to happen first.
How will we know we're making progress?
Get measures tied to the expected benefit of each recommendation. For example, compare time spent entering the same information before and after a change intended to reduce duplicate entry. For a reporting change, compare how many corrections managers need before they can use the report.

In a one-hour Executive Findings Call, we'll walk through the findings and explain what each recommendation would change for your team and why it matters.

You decide how to act on the findings and who helps you carry out the recommendations. The Assessment includes the investigation and recommendations. Changes to the application require a separate agreement and quote.

Experience with the decisions your team is facing

Our team's experience includes implementing and improving Dynamics 365 Sales, connecting it with other business systems, and helping companies recover when an implementation falls short.

We've helped teams manage customer relationships, track follow-up, and see where deals need attention. That experience helps us check whether Dynamics 365 Sales supports the steps your team needs to take with a customer.

A senior Alliason consultant oversees your Assessment. A second senior consultant checks the evidence behind the findings and whether the recommended changes address the problems we found.

How the Assessment gets to the root cause

We compare what your team needs to accomplish with what happens in the application and the processes around it.

01

We listen to the people using the application.

We speak with the people managing customers and deals, along with those responsible for the application and its reports. They show us where tasks take extra effort, information is missing, or errors delay the next step. When a task is handled outside Dynamics 365 Sales, we examine what the team needs that the application isn't providing.

02

We examine how the process and application fit together.

We follow the steps your team takes to manage a customer or deal, including how responsibility passes from one person to another. We compare those steps with the records and configuration in Dynamics 365 Sales. That shows where missing information, repeated entry, or an unclear handoff prevents someone from completing the next task.

03

We review connected systems, automated tasks, and access.

We check whether connected systems pass information correctly and whether automated tasks complete as intended. We also look for processes that could stop if an employee's or provider's account loses access. If we find a risk that could interrupt a process your business relies on, we'll include it in the findings.

They had Dynamics 365 Sales. They still couldn't see which deals needed attention.

An event production company was using Dynamics 365 Sales, but leaders still couldn't answer basic questions: Which deals were moving forward? Who needed a follow-up? When did we last speak to the prospect?

Alliason's Assessment identified what the application needed to help the team manage those deals. It also found automated tasks failing without the team knowing, along with processes that depended on a former provider's account.

Those findings guided our recommendations. In the implementation that followed, we corrected the automation problems and configured Dynamics 365 Sales so sellers could see what to do next and leaders could see where follow-up had stopped.

The team went from barely using the application for sales to using it every day. They kept the application they'd already invested in.
